ArborForce Group maintains deep ties with the military community across Merseyside and Cheshire, reflecting our unwavering commitment to supporting those who have served. Upon learning about The Block, Armed Forces Foundation—a vital Liverpool-based charity dedicated to aiding veterans in crisis—our missions aligned seamlessly. Operating from 241-243 Walton Road, Liverpool (L4 4AR), The Block provides essential services including mental health support via referrals to Op COURAGE, emergency and supported accommodation through partnerships like Op FORTITUDE, addiction recovery, employment opportunities, training, and even casual “brews and banter” sessions for camaraderie. 1 (https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/en/charity-search/-/charity-details/5226717/full-print) 3 (https://www.asdic.org.uk/members/the-block-armed-forces-foundation/) 5 (https://theblockaff.org/about-us-1) 7 (https://theblockaff.org)
Led by Chairman Colin John Eastaway, a selfless veteran who prioritizes those in need, The Block steps in where other charities or housing associations fall short, offering holistic therapies, crisis prevention, and civilian transition assistance to veterans feeling isolated or without options. With a small team of trustees and 33 volunteers, the charity generated £54,650 in income for the year ending October 2024, much of it from government grants, to deliver these life-changing services.
Inspired by their work, one of ArborForce’s directors quickly connected with the organization to explore support opportunities. We were delighted to conduct a charity drop-off of essential supplies, providing practical aid to veterans facing housing insecurity, mental health challenges, and daily hardships. This collaboration underscores ArborForce’s dedication to giving back to the communities we serve, honoring our military heroes by amplifying their resilience and hope.
